Should I Include the Same Header As My Resume?

Should I Include the Same Header As My Resume?Should I include the same header as my resume? That is a question that I'm asked a lot. Well, I've got some useful answers for you!Yes, it's true that when a job posting comes in for a writer, all I hear is, 'This job is for an English writer only!' Or, 'You must have previous writing experience, you need to write about social issues or minority groups, or you need to be funny!' Or, 'When you can't get your foot in the door, just submit your resume and you'll get hired!' Yes, that happens often. But what if you're just that perfect? What if you just get rejected all the time? I was in this position once, long ago, but the good news is that it doesn't have to be that way anymore. With the use of the Internet, you can now find out exactly where that writing sample might be, and there are a number of places that are specifically set up to help writers find the jobs they're looking for. That includes helping them see what kind of jobs they may be interviewing for, as well as the different levels of skills needed for different positions.I use a good word processing program, and then I save it on a flash drive. Next, I take it with me when I interview. If I do get offered a job, I go into a room, open up the program, and insert the writing sample right into my application!Of course, when applying for jobs that don't pay very much, like copywriter jobs or copywriting job posts, it's best to include your resume or CV with the writing sample. But, again, it's also important to see exactly what the company is looking for. So, I'm always diligent, and I also read up on job postings in order to get a feel for what a job description looks like. And if you can find the writing samples that focus on social issues, or minority groups, or funny stories, or positive writing, or even funny ads, then you can include them as well. Some writing sample companies even offer a writing sample catalogue. They have hundreds of sample portfolios they want to show you, and they can even send you one email request, and you can have a free sample sent right to your computer screen! It's amazing what kind of research a writing sample company can do!When applying for a job as a fiction writer, it's even better to include your writing sample with your resume, because sometimes people will actually ask you if you have written any fiction before. So, it is actually a plus if you have written any fiction before. Even if you haven't written anything for over three years, there are still a lot of freelance writers out there, and many of them are willing to hire you and pay you to write their stories!I know that it's not always possible to apply for every writing sample in print, but it's worth your while to get started now! Whether you are applying for an English writing job, a social service writing job, or a writing job that is targeted to those in the minority groups, or even a science fiction writing jobs, or even a writing job th at requires writing about social issues, and that is not specifically targeted to science fiction or fantasy, there are always companies who are looking for writers!
